LUDINGTON STATE PARK

"The Michigan DNR has announced that the Ludington State Park will be closed from September 3rd, 2024 through July 1st, 2025 for renovations including parking lot repaving, expansion, and upgrades to warming shelters and traffic areas."

Located between the 5,000-acre Hamlin Lake and 7 miles from downtown Ludington, you will find endless amounts of natural beauty at a haven known as Ludington State Park. This breathtaking area of land offers more then just camping. Explore hiking trails, bike the numerous paths, fish, kayak or canoe on Hamlin Lake, visit the iconic Big Sable Point Lighthouse and discover so much more!

HIKING

With 8-miles of hiking trails to explore, Ludington State Park has a variety of hiking trails to choose from. Ranging from a short 30-minute hike to a relaxing 3-hour walk. Enjoy historical facts throughout the trails while taking in the beautiful scenery.

Discover a new love for bicycling in the Midwest as you explore the different scenic routes that Ludington State Park has to offer.

FISHING

Make memories fishing the 1-mile stretch of Big Sable River which runs through the park. Fish for salmon, steelhead, crappie, bluegill, and small mouth bass.
